Down but not out...

Looks like the defeat of BN in Selangor/KL clearly shows how M’sians are heavily influenced by information technology, & in this case, the internet! The very thing which the govt has been encouraging for its’ rakyat. The govt’s pride & joy. Their idea of having 1 computer for each home. Though the EPF ‘computer scheme’ for the bumiputras has been disgracefully abolished (due to the corrupt of the rakyat of this privilege), the rakyat still abused the I.T.

If you surf the net these days, u will easily find anti-govt sentiments everywhere. Especially in blogs & even non-profit organization public websites. These websites belongs to both locals & international. Just surf in http://www.youtube.com, & you’ll see how the rakyat abused by editing/altering speeches & video clips. Just type ‘pilihanraya malaysia’ in it & you will know what I mean. I’m sad to see a number of my fellow friends & peers started to be addicted by ‘opposition’ blogs & the youtube. Malaysians are new with this. They are quite naïve when it comes to this & tend to believe what they see & read online. To them, this alternate ‘media’ started as an escapade from the mainstream media. The information travels fast & easily accessible. Therefore, news & rumours spread faster with this media. To make matters worst, IT has become an addiction & managed to brainwash the rakyat. Especially the youths!!! IT has become their daily diet on feeding their idealistic mind. Idle minds are definitely the devil’s playground.

Honestly, I am one of the rakyat that feeds from IT & it has been my daily routine to surf everyday on the information super-highway. BUT… I was exposed to I.T & the creative side of this media for 15 years…therefore I’m experience enough to differentiate & filter out which is true & untrue “visually”, such as those edited video-clips & photographs you see thru chain e-mails, youtube, malaysiakini.com & other anti-govt websites. (Which I will include later on). I have my parents to thank for for this. As my education paid-off.

Study the amount of homes with internet & PC and you will know what I mean. The ratio shows clearly that KL/Selangor is on top of the list & other developed/rich states. It is sad indeed. Majorities of PC users are youth. The rakyat & especially the youths are bored with the mainstream media. Print is dying. (which is good, as it helps to save the trees) Information is free online, where you don’t have to pay a single cent for it. Therefore, I would dare say the best choice of platform of the opposition parties to use it for their campaign. Even mainstream TV doesn’t work. The youths doesn’t watch TV anymore as they prefer to be hooked on the net or reality shows nowadays. Ironically, the government has always said that the youth is the future. And again the govt is robbed under their noses. The govt encourages the rakyat having computers & they abused it (look who is corrupted now?)… the govt encourages I.T, again it got abused… & now the youth… hmmmmm…. It’s all gone.

PAS controls the simple minds, islam fundamentalists & the rural areas. PKR controls the idealistic minds & IT influenced areas. DAP controls the area which has the majority of Chinese as well as the IT influenced areas. Malaysia is democracy indeed.

BN now has to learn from this & take advantage of the IT. One of BN’s mistake is being too over-confident & rely too much on their current supporters. They have not considered campaigning for their youth. Though BN still control half of M’sia, lets see how M’sia fares with the new govt. Hmmm looks like I’ve to wait for another 4 years to vote for the new ‘opposition’ then.

Penat lelah laaaa…. kerajaan menolong membangunkan Negara. Negeri yg dimajukan oleh kerajaan bagai kacang lupakan kulit. Manakala negeri yg masih memerlukan pembangunan tetap menyokong kerajaan. Adakah ini satu trend? Vote for the government if you want good development & support… but once you’ve developed & achieved the necessary success… you start to be egoistic & wants more then what the government offer. To sum it all… in one word… Malaysians are filled with “GREED”.

That’s what I think about this 12th Malaysia General Election….
1. Greed for power (eager to win even if means lying & ganging up with other opposition party to topple their own race & religion)
2. Greed for influence (even if it means spreading hate, rumors & violence)
3. Greed for attention (blogging, altering video clips, & creating chain mails to be seen, heard & famous)

ALLAHUAKBAR!!! Saya akan tetap bersama BARISAN NASIONAL, dulu….kini…. dan selamanya!!!
